Soccer Fitness Training
Overview
Soccer Fitness Training is a series designed to enhance the training regimen of the serious soccer player. The focus will be on learning to train properly, assessing weaknesses, and setting goals for better fitness, strength, flexibility and injury prevention. Note: Although there may be some work with a soccer ball, this is a class that focuses on the “soccer player as an athlete”.
Outline
- Six weeks, two (or one) 1-hour classes per week
- Players aged 11 to 14
- Each session will have a different theme, but will follow a basic outline with concentration in specific areas depending on the week:
- Jog
- Stretch
- Cardio Work
- Strength Training
- Core work & military push ups
- Areas of emphasis:
- Assessment overall
- Assessment, indivdual strengths and weaknesses
- Individual goals including a written assignment
- Form concentration
- Testing, measurement towards goals
- Meeting individual goals, moving forward individually

Diana began teaching aerobics, step aerobics and strength training classes in college for credits at UMASS Amherst and her work toward certification began at that time. She has 15 years experience in teaching locally and specializes in muscle strengthening and kickboxing. She is well versed in dance, gymnastics, aerobics, step, cardio dance, flexibility challenge, and “one on one challenge”. She is AFAA Certified 1996, YMCA Trainer Certified, First Responder Certified, and has first aid training for each specialty. References upon request.
Diana is passionate about her work and continues to educate herself and keeps current with new techniques and ideas in the industry. She loves to work with serious athletes and has worked with youth soccer players to get them ready for the “high school challenge”. Her family loves soccer and her children are avid soccer players.
