Soccer Fitness Training

Overview

Soccer Fitness Training is a series designed to enhance the training regimen of the serious soccer player. The focus will be on learning to train properly, assessing weaknesses, and setting goals for better fitness, strength, flexibility and injury prevention. Note: Although there may be some work with a soccer ball, this is a class that focuses on the “soccer player as an athlete”.

Outline

  • Six weeks, two (or one) 1-hour classes per week
  • Players aged 11 to 14
  • Each session will have a different theme, but will follow a basic outline with concentration in specific areas depending on the week:
    • Jog
    • Stretch
    • Cardio Work
    • Strength Training
    • Core work & military push ups
  • Areas of emphasis:
    • Assessment overall
    • Assessment, indivdual strengths and weaknesses
    • Individual goals including a written assignment
    • Form concentration
    • Testing, measurement towards goals
    • Meeting individual goals, moving forward individually
